Who we are
Carply is a trading name of Ali Gohar Butt, a sole trader based in Birmingham, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
Contact: ali@carply.co.uk
What this notice covers
This notice explains how we handle personal information when you visit carply.co.uk or contact us about our services. When we handle enquiries for a dealer client, that dealer is the data controller for their customers' data and we act as their processor under a written data processing agreement. The dealer's own privacy notice applies to that data.
Information we collect
- When you email us: your name, email address, business name and anything you choose to include in your message (for example your dealership's location or listing links).
- When you become a client: business contact and billing details needed to provide and invoice our services.
Our website has no contact forms, no analytics and no tracking or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a free audit or call (legitimate interests: responding to people who contact us).
- To provide our services and manage our contract with you (contract).
- To keep business and tax records (legal obligation).
We do not sell your information or use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share it with
We only share information with service providers who help us run the business, such as our email provider (Google Workspace) and website host Netlify, and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for up to 24 months if you don't become a client. Client and accounting records are kept for as long as needed for the contract and then for up to 6 years for tax and legal purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability where it applies. To use any of these rights, email ali@carply.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
